Amazing thai restaurant food is absolutely mouth watering, staff all very nice and friendly
Visited Thai Basil yesterday for the first time in over 20 years - obviously the management has changed in that time but I was delighted to find the food and service were every bit as good as it was all that time ago. There's a peaceful garden at the back and it was lovely to sit on the veranda on a warm evening with the calming sound of the fountain. Thanks to the team and hope to see you again soon!
We went here for the first time for a birthday celebration. The staff were welcoming and the food was lovely. Everything was well presented. Will definitely return at some point in the future.
My partner and I love coming here. The food is always amazing. Portions are generous in particular the duck starter with lots of pancakes and hoisin sauce. Waiting staff are always very friendly and obliging. Fairly priced too. We would fully recommend this restaurant to anyone.
First time to eat here again after they reopen, have to say it’s better than before!! The green curry is the best I’ve had in the UK, and the chicken breast in Pad thai is so tender it’s unbelievable. Lunch menu is very reasonable price, they improved the interior decor and the staff are super friendly. Lovely local restaurant and definitely will visit them regularly. High streets need our support.
What an amazing evening. Jen booked this amazing restaurant and gave them the heads up it was my 60th. What exceptional effort went into making my birthday celebrations amazing. My table was scattered with happy birthday confetti. There was a banner across the windows. The food and service were fantastic. And to top it off, I was given a beautiful cake, candles and sung to by Imelda and her team. Just an extraordinary evening in Thornbury at a beautiful Restaurant. Didn’t manage to get photos of the starters but highly recommend the mince pork on the sesame toast, was delicious. Mains were great too, definitely will come back soon. Staff extremely friendly and everyone was so nice to us. Pad Thai was a bit sweet for my taste but nevertheless was really good.
I would recommend that you book a table. We were in the area & unsure where to eat, when we came upon Thai Basil & walked in, we did not have a booking but we were lucky that a table for four was available on the early Friday evening. The warm welcome, table service attention to our requests & the help given to explain some of the dishes was so amazing. Our order was taken & with no real delay we started our first of three courses, with each full of those thai flavours we wanted & were not disappointed with the whole evening. What a place to dine, the team during our visit were so attentive & happy, it just made our visit all the more pleasurable. So a big Thank You to the whole team, we will be returning real soon & will make sure that we book, as to not be disappointed. Thanks.
